I came to reflexology in the late 90's and was a student of Verdant Acres Reflexology in PA. I began practicing in 2000 as Serene Health Reflexology and later re-organized as SERENE HEALTH LLC. I love the efficacy of reflexology as a holistic path to healing and have enjoyed the past 20+ years of professional development and instruction. I love sharing the working knowledge of Integrative Method Reflex Therapy, which I currently teach under Integrative Health Institute in the capacity of Director. I've been honored to have had research entitled "The Effects of Reflexology on Chronic Pain in a Military Clinic" published in the Journal of Special Ops Medicine following a study performed at Womack Army Medical Center where I was a provider from 2015-2019. I hold a Masters of Education from UNC with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and see holistic health as necessitating the use of tools across the spectrums of mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. Toward this end, I also founded NC Holistic Health and Wellness Associates of Fayetteville, a nonprofit which seeks to integrate allopathic and natrual methods as equal partners in health for the general population. I served on the Board of Directors of the NC Reflexology Association from 2020-2023 and more recently joined the Board of Directors of the National Council of Reflexology Educators to assist in ensuring standards-based reflexology education as the profession becomes more widely used and integrated into healthcare. I look forward to helping elevate the profession by encouraging and facilitating the expanded the use of reflexology as a part of integrative healing methods nationwide. I continue to look for ways to expand my own knowledge and to grow and change with the ever-expanding knowledge base provided by both the medical and mental health communities.
