The art and science of reflexology is an honorable one. Consequently a reflexologist shall uphold personal values of excellence, integrity and respect for others at all times. Thus a reflexologist communicates with an open and peaceful mind, while recognizing that the relationship between client and practitioner is a serious responsibility.
Therefore the professional reflexologist shall:

Act in a professional and ethical manner at all times when interacting with other reflexologists and healthcare professionals.

Adhere to the ARCB Professional Business Standards & Conduct.

Promote the study, application and understanding of reflexology and its work.

Ensure that anyone employed or working in the office shall also adhere to this Code of Ethics.

Respect the scope of practice of other professions.

Provide only the services for which professional qualifications have been met; accurately representing competence, education, training and experience.

Refer clients to appropriate medical or other healthcare professionals when appropriate.

Prescribing, diagnosing, treating for a specific illness or adjusting medications falls outside the scope of ARCB certification.

Use accepted professional vocabulary.
Work within the guidelines of the federal, state and local laws including HIPPA.

Establish and practice clear boundaries.

Document each session.

Adhere to contraindication guidelines.

Refrain from the use of tools and/or mechanical devices as their use falls outside the scope of ARCB certification.

Approach each client with the same kind, ethical attitude regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, age or gender.
An ARCB certificant who does not abide by the ARCB Professional Business Standards & Conduct and the ARCB Code of Ethics shall forfeit the use of the title, "ARCB" Nationally Board Certified Reflexologist" (NBCR), return the ARCB pin, certificate and I.D. card.
