Reflexology is a modality that can be practiced at any stage in a career. Many therapists choose reflexology as a second career or post-retirement option. Therefore, practicing effective Ergonomic principles is vital for a longer injury-free career.
We all have little habits that may lead to injury to the thumbs, shoulders, neck, upper back, and wrists. Reflexology Ergonomics explores ways to effectively work a reflexive area while maintaining an ergonomically balanced body alignment and technique.
In this session, we consider the therapist’s body positioning and movements, and explore techniques to minimize postural distortions (such as protracted and elevated shoulders) and repetitive stress conditions (such as carpal tunnel syndrome and arthritis).
